Compaq Presario C500 Windows 7 Drivers updated

Compaq Presario C500 is a windows vista base model where the drivers for windows XP and Windows Vista is available on HP support site. If you plan on upgrading to windows 7, here I listed the drivers you will need. There are many Compaq Presario c500 series available (a very long list) but all of them using the same device drivers except for wireless.


Graphic Driver:
All C500 series use Intel 940/943/945 Graphic. Basically you just need to install vista drivers for the graphic drivers in windows 7.

Compaq Presario V3000 Windows 8 Drivers and Upgrade

Compaq Presario V3000 originally released with Windows Vista and can be upgraded to Windows 7 without problems. If you plan to upgrade to windows 8, here I will describe in details about the hardware, drivers and certain issues after upgrading to Windows 8.

Content:
1. Installing Windows 8 and System Requirements.
2. Overheating Problems.
3. Drivers

Installing Windows 8 and System Requirements.
1. You can choose either to make a fresh installation or if you already have windows 7 installed, you can use Windows 8 upgrade.
2. System Requirements: Windows 8 require at least 1GB of RAM, and base on users experience Compaq Presario V3000 meet the minimum requirement for Windows 8.

Overheating Problem
The heat problem was common among V3000 series, the temperature increase base on the following operating system:
Windows XP < Windows 7 < Windows 8 < Windows Vista

Solution: (You can choose one of this method)
1. Clean your on board fan (you can choose to do it yourself or send it to shop which normally cost you about ~$5, at my place it cost about MYR15 ~ $3).
2. Get an external USB Fan, place it near to the top left side of your keyboard. (This trick work most of the time). This method also prevent auto shut down during Windows Installation.
3. Get a new motherboard (cost around $80-$130)

Do I need to Install all Drivers for Windows 8?
NO! base on my experience installing windows 8 in this model, all drivers automatically installed.

HP ProBook 4410s Windows XP 7 8 8 1 Drivers

Please Install the drivers according to the order given, do not skip the driver installation order especially for audio.

Notes:
1. Driver version and file size not listed here but you can find it on the extracted driver folder.
2. I re-make the driver list by arrange it into installation order, remove similar driver files with different version and only listed the latest version.
3. Please read HP SLA before downloading.
4. x86 refer to 32-bit, x64 refer to 64-bit. learn more>> , if you need to install different drivers for 32 and 64-bit you will see 2 different download link available.
5. Windows 8 drivers is compatible with windows 8.1.
6. Software installation is optional, example, you need to install webcam driver but you can skip webcam software installation if you doesnt want to use it.
