In Order to Configure TCP IP You Must Install and Enable a Network Adapter Card

The error " In Order to Configure TCP/IP You Must Install and Enable a Network Adapter Card" occur because wrong network driver installed on your PC. This issue is common if you are using Intel Gigabit Network Adapter and it may happen for other LAN/Ethernet Controller such as Realtek or Broadcom. This error will appear whenever you try to:

• Change IP Address
• Change DNS Server

If you have this problem (like my friend who asking me about this today) you can solve it by using the following steps:

1. Download the right drivers for you Network adapter. If you are using Intel network adapter you can download the latest drivers from here:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProdId=3024

Just select the drivers base on your operating system (Windows XP/Vista/7 or 8 or others).

2. Next step is to uninstall the current drivers, go to device manager and look for network adapter. Right click on it and select uninstall. Here is an example:

3. We also need to uninstall Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software in control panel - add/remove program.

4. Now install the latest drivers and reboot.

My friend just installed windows 7 on a PC and he want to setup a local area connection. It is a HP Compaq dc7900 desktop PC which uses Intel(R) PRO/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Controller. So I asked him to configure the IP adress but hes unable to do so because of this error. I asked him to look at the device manager and surprisingly it shows Intel 82567lm-3 network adapter. So, thats how I figure out the solution, wrong driver for the wrong adapter is the reason you are getting this error.

Just for you information, it is a normal situation where windows automatically determine which is the best drivers for your network card. So it install the driver during windows installation, but keep in mind that the default drivers not always the best. You need to find the latest drivers or download the original drivers from your manufacturer for the best performance and result. Why? latest drivers is more stable and keep up with the latest technology and the drivers from your manufacture is specifically design and tested for you specific model.

Compaq Presario V3000 Windows 8 Drivers and Upgrade

Compaq Presario V3000 originally released with Windows Vista and can be upgraded to Windows 7 without problems. If you plan to upgrade to windows 8, here I will describe in details about the hardware, drivers and certain issues after upgrading to Windows 8.

Installing Windows 8 and System Requirements.
1. You can choose either to make a fresh installation or if you already have windows 7 installed, you can use Windows 8 upgrade.
2. System Requirements: Windows 8 require at least 1GB of RAM, and base on users experience Compaq Presario V3000 meet the minimum requirement for Windows 8.

Overheating Problem
The heat problem was common among V3000 series, the temperature increase base on the following operating system:
Windows XP < Windows 7 < Windows 8 < Windows Vista

Solution: (You can choose one of this method)
1. Clean your on board fan (you can choose to do it yourself or send it to shop which normally cost you about ~$5, at my place it cost about MYR15 ~ $3).
2. Get an external USB Fan, place it near to the top left side of your keyboard. (This trick work most of the time). This method also prevent auto shut down during Windows Installation.
3. Get a new motherboard (cost around $80-$130)

NO! base on my experience installing windows 8 in this model, all drivers automatically installed.

SATA Driver and Slipstreaming Guide

Dropbox and Spotify More alive than ever

Just a few hours ago came the launch of iCloud, the bet of the Apple cloud computing. Of all our digital life, and as such, channelling service encompasses a multitude of services relating to our files: music, documents, photographs, etc.

Many of us are sure that we have been pondering the implications that this product will have in the way we use existing ones. We must probably be users of Dropbox or Spotify. They will suffer from these two services, one musical and one storage in the cloud, iCloud as a result? It may be, remember that one of the iCloud applications is called iTunes cloud, i.e. our personal music library placed on Apples servers for our enjoyment through any device.

Another application is iCloud Storage, a function that stores all documents created using APIs iCloud Storage, and it automatically does push them towards all our devices. Speaking of APIs is shown that it is not an exclusive use in the enterprise apps, but on third-party apps, because developers will be authorized to use this system to manage their own documents.

Then, do we leave to use Dropbox and Spotify? Honestly, I think that it wont. On the contrary, both products will grow in use. On the one hand Dropbox does not put constraints to the type of document used or if the application has already implemented the API or not.
